Tennis divisional tournament May 19-21 in Libby

May 15, 2011
Ten years ago, when U Serve Libby, Inc. first started planning the Libby Community Tennis Courts, it was hoped that soon Libby would again be able to host tournaments on home ground. This year, Libby High School will be hosting their Class A Divisional tournament here in Libby! With the six new community courts open for play and the rest of the project nearing completion, the high school was able to take their turn in the rotation and host at home.
Thursday-Saturday, May 19-21, matches will be played by Libby and four visiting teams: Whitefish, Polson, Columbia Falls and Ronan. Bleachers will be brought in for the event at the new courts to provide adequate seating for spectators. The community is invited to come and watch. Burgers and more will be available on site as a fundraiser for U Serve Libby. Proceeds will go toward the court construction fund.
Thursday and Friday, singles matches will be played at the community courts and doubles will be played at the high school courts. Finals are expected to be played on Saturday at the community courts. Weather permitting, matches will start at 1 PM on Thursday, and 8:30 AM on Friday and Saturday.
