STOKR Saturday 2011
Original post May 21, 2011 | Updated May 25, 2011

STOKR Saturday, May 14th
Beautiful day. Delightful weather. Awesome. Gorgeous.
Those were some of the adjectives used to describe Saturday's STOKR, the Scenic Tour of the Kootenai River to benefit the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Even though there was some wind to contend with, those who remember last year's STOKR certainly weren't complaining about the wind. The weather cooperated nicely, and the STOKR riders were grateful for both the nice weather and the incredibly generous donations of time, food, help, and Libby hospitality that go into every STOKR.

Photos by Maggie Craig, LibbyMT.com, as labeled. Thank you to Larry Kwan for additional photos.

Rider Comments:
5/25/11: "This was my second STOKR ride in three years. My first was in 2009. The words that come to mind are hospitality, community and spectacular scenery....The event is AWESOME! Please pass my regards to the organizers, the volunteers and the community for making this event happen. Thank You." - Larry Kwan, Calgary, Canada.

Feeling Good at the Summit
Larry Kwan, from Calgary, is jumping for joy because STOKR is a training ride for him. He belongs to Team Pink, which will be riding the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, a 2-day cycling event in June (2011) to raise funds for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. "The ride allows me to honor those affected by cancer and to contribute towards the fight to eliminate cancer. The summit is my measure of preparedness." Photo courtesy Larry Kwan.

There was snow along the road at the top (the 2010 STOKR riders were riding in rain and then snow the entire route).
