Expand your horizons at the Lincoln County Public Libraries with this year’s Summer Reading program, "One World, Many Stories." Participants will have the opportunity to explore stories, crafts, and cultures of nations around the world. The 2011 Summer Reading program is open to young people, preschool through age twelve, and consists of two components: a read-at-home portion and a series of programs at the library. For the read-at-home segment, participants read books of their choosing, or have books read to them, and receive prizes based on amount of time spent reading. The library programs, during which participants will explore other cultures, will be held at the Libby Library on Tuesdays at 10 am starting June 14. Troy Library programs will be held on Wednesdays at 1:30 pm starting June 8 and Eureka Library will hold programs on Thursdays at 3 pm starting June 16. Program registration is open from June 1 through July 1.
Young adults may also read for prizes through their program, "You Are Here," and adults are invited to participate in their summer reading program, "Novel Destinations," both of which will run concurrently with the children’s summer reading program.
