The life of a Libby High School senior may have been saved by the quick thinking of another student.
On Wednesday, May 4, Caleb Lapka was injured with a neck wound from a sharp metal object during a metal shop class. He was reportedly bleeding profusely.
The quick thinking of Brooke White may have saved Lapka's life. She applied her sweatshirt to the wound and applied pressure. Libby Volunteer Ambulance paramedics happened to be nearby on the school grounds preparing for an assembly presentation to show students the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Lapka was stabilized at St John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby and air-lifted to Spokane for further surgery.
A reliable source tells KLCB-KTNY that the Lapka is recovering well in Spokane. _______________________________________________
