Community donates to WINGs
Cancer support charity

The community raised $43,000 for WINGs this year.
Libby - a little over $19,000. This includes the WINGs walk, bowling, and Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo served about 175 people. The silent auction raised about $920.00 and the auction of the four pinatas made by the middle school raised about $215.00, and $1300 from the meal, for approximately $2400.00 for the event.
Troy - almost $14,000 including bowling, WINGs walk and the high school kids.
Yaak - $10,000 from the spaghetti feed and the live auction.
These numbers are net.
WINGs usually raises between $40,000 and $50,000 in an average year - so this year is on the low side of that average, but even in this economy, folks have been very generous and WINGs Week was another success.

Editor’s Note: WINGs is a grass roots organization that provides cash support for people on Northwest Montana who are being treated for cancer. The cash grants offered to these local cancer patients cover transportation, meals, and lodging expenses.
