City Council votes down 2 mil emergency levy for flooding expenses
by Duane Williams, KLCB-KTNY Radio
February 8, 2011

A motion to impose a 2 mil emergency levy to help pay the expenses of recent flooding along Flower Creek failed at Monday's City Council meeting.

The 2 mil levy would have only raised about $6000, but opened the door for the City to ask the State to pay the remaining costs of dealing with the flood.

The City must now find a way to fund those costs without the additional tax on City residents.
