House fires on the rise by Duane Williams, KLCB-KTNY Radio December 8, 2010 House fires are taking their toll during the cold temperatures. Thursday morning (Dec. 2), just after midnight, a fire at 412 Pioneer Road had the home fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene as were outbuildings. The two story ranch style house and large garage sustained an estimated $300,000 in damage. The cause is under investigation. Saturday morning (Dec. 4) a 1:00 AM chimney fire at 1215 Washington progressed into a structure fire causing an estimated $15,000 damage to the one-story portion of the home. No injuries were reported in either incident.
