Twenty-Second Annual Tree of Life is December 3rd
by St. John's Lutheran Hospital
November 6, 2010
St. John’s Hospice staff and volunteers will be presenting the twenty-second annual Hospice Tree of Life on Friday, December 3rd at 7:00 p.m., at the Libby Memorial Center. The tradition of the Tree of Life lighting ceremony was begun by Kootenai Volunteer Hospice in 1988, and transitioned to St. John’s Hospice in 2000.
For a donation of ten dollars or more, Hospice sends a lovely tree ornament commemorating the year to the person or persons the donor designates. Along with the ornament, the designee receives an invitation to the Tree of Life, informing them that their loved one’s name will be called and a light lit on the tree that night.
Tree of Life is a lovely and meaningful event that provides an opportunity to reach out to friends and family who will be missing loved ones during the holiday season. Anyone interested in participating in this year’s Tree of Life should call St. John’s Hospice, at 293-0180, and ask for a Tree of Life order form. ____________________________________
