Small Forest Fires Started
August 8, 2010

Two helicopters were put to work on a small fire (less than two acres) on Hornet Ridge Saturday, getting water from Lake Koocanusa to extinguish the lightning-caused flames. Another small fire (about 1 acre) was reported in the Libby Creek drainage, and yet another (about five acres) on McGuire Mountain. The fires were not anticipated to grow much in size.
