Five Libby girls are in the running for the title of 2010 Logger Days Queen, while four boys are vying to be Libby’s first-ever Logger Days King.

Courtney Wilkonski, Shelby Murer, Miranda Raab, Kurtlyn Aarstad and Jasmine Cook are selling Logger Days admission buttons in their quest to be queen. Buttons are $5 in advance from one of the queen candidates and will be $10 at the gate. The girl who sells the most buttons will be crowned queen and receive a scholarship.

Cree Maloney, Andrew Smith, Jason Schikora and William Lee are running for king. The candidates are selling raffle tickets for an all-terrain vehicle in their scholarship competition.

Logger Days will be held June 24-27 at J. Neils Park. Along with a carnival and traditional logging events, this year’s celebration will include a softball tournament and a breakfast on Sunday morning provided by the Knights of Columbus.
