A fatal roll-over accident occurred on Lindsey Road in the Eureka area Wednesday evening about 9:30 PM.
Randy Kirkedahl, 20, of Trego died in the one-vehicle mishap. He was the front-seat passenger in the vehicle driven by 19-year-old Dillion Petersen of Eureka.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the vehicle drifted off the right edge of the road, climbed an embankment, and rolled. Both Kirkedahl and Petersen were ejected, with Petersen pinned beneath the vehicle. He was treated and released at North Country Medical Clinic in Eureka. Kirkedahl was flighted by ALERT helicopter to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he died.
A third passenger Cory Burk was not injured.
The Highway Patrol says alcohol appears to have been a factor. Seatbelts were not used.
Highway Patrolman Neil Durham is continuing the investigation. The Patrol says charges will be filed through the Lincoln County Attorney's Office. _____________________________
