Train locomotive catches fire by Duane Williams, KLCB-KTNY Radio April 23, 2010 A Burlington Northern Santa Fe locomotive caught fire at Ripley Wednesday afternoon about 3:15pm, igniting spot fires in the grass in the area. Libby fire crews responded as did DNRC, BNSF, Forest Service and Sheriff’s Office personnel. Crews spent two and half hours suppressing the fires. BNSF spokesman Gus Melonas said there was, "no impact on main operations."
