A special Amtrak train made a stop in Libby Thursday afternoon, offering tours and safety presentations to school children, law enforcement and emergency services personnel, and the public. Montana Operation Lifesaver (MTOLI), part of a national program known as Operation Lifesaver, is a free public service education program dedicated to preventing and reducing fatalities and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and along railroad rights-of-way. OLI programs are sponsored cooperatively by federal, state, and local government agencies; highway safety organizations, and the nation’s railroads. For more information about MTOLI, visit their web site at mtoli.org.
