Bighorn Sheep April 20, 2010 These bighorn sheep were seen along Highway 2 south of Libby, near Libby Creek, Monday evening. It's not known where these two may have come from, since they're not commonly seen in this particular area. They were eating soil from the banks along the road to get minerals. The minerals are necessary for restoring nutrient levels, depleted by the stresses of a lower quality winter diet.
