Nordicfest will survive, at least for one more year, according to Nodicfest Preident Lisa Oedewaldt.
A "do or die" meeting held Friday night to decide the fate of the annual fall Scandinavian Festival played to a full house of current board members, a couple of past board members from 2009, a few past royalty, some community members, and interested parties
The festivals future was shaky due to a dwindling number of board members and volunteers. Out of 12 board positions, eight were empty.
According to Oedewaldt, "the future looked bleak, until Noelle Gilmore stepped up and said that she would take over the Crafts position. The one by one, the people who came to share and listen started to volunteer and in a matter of an hour and a half, the fate of Nordicfest was decided. and with the help of the newest board members it looks this Nordicfest Is in Full Swing", she said. Hope to see you enjoying Nordicfest 2010!
