Libby Dam recreation information

Outflow from Libby Dam as of November 13, 2009 is 4,500 cubic feet per second (4.5 kcfs). Outflow last week increased briefly over a four day period to allow Bonneville Power Administration to meet electricity demands throughout the region.
For the rest of November, outflows are likely to be variable to meet Lake Koocanusa target flood control elevation of 2,434 – 2,436 feet above mean sea level at the end of November, and may include outflows up to full powerhouse capacity.
Current elevation of Lake Koocanusa is 2440 feet above sea level, which is approximately 19 feet from full pool. Note that flows may change in the event of cold snaps or flood control requirements.
Libby Dam Visitor Center will be open by appointment after November 16 until the spring of the 2010.
