Geiger Lakes and Lost Buck Pass hike
Photos by Bob Hosea
October 4, 2009
Bob Hosea did a hike to Geiger Lakes and Lost Buck Pass in the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness recently and sent in some photos of the scenery.
Lost Buck Pass is just past upper Geiger Lake at an elevation of 6000 feet. "The trails to the lakes and to the pass were in excellent condition. I saw many grouse on the trail and also a few mule deer. The fall colors are really starting to show around the lakes too. I did see two other groups of people who were in the area bear hunting. The entire trip was just over nine miles."
Bob also uploaded a short video of the hike to his YouTube account. The video shows some of the highlights of a trip to the lakes and to the pass. "The day I went was the day we had the high winds and you can really see it in the video near the pass." The video is about 4 minutes long. The photos include lower Geiger Lake, Upper Geiger Lake, Carney Peak and Wanless Lake from Lost Buck Pass.
