A Change in the Weather

The Kootenai River is shown here on Tuesday, October 6. It was a beautiful fall day in the Kootenai Valley. The recorded high temperature was a comfortable 63 degrees.






By Friday morning, however, the sunshine had turned to cold and snow, dropping as much as six inches of snow in the lower elevations. The recorded high temperature was a chilly 39 degrees. This white-tailed buck was foraging among the snow-covered trees and brush.
