FWP makes decision on Lower Boulder Lake and Boulder Creek Restoration Project
Plan to restock native westslope cutthroat trout
by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks
September 3, 2009
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP), Region One, has completed an environmental assessment (EA) for the restoration of native fish to Lower Boulder Lake and Boulder Creek (within the Boulder Creek watershed located about 15 miles SW of Eureka, Montana, T36N, R30W, S35, in Lincoln County) by removing a hybridized Yellowstone cutthroat trout population through piscicide application and restocking with native westslope cutthroat trout.
No changes were made to the draft EA based on the lack of comments and issues received during the 30-day public review. Therefore, the draft will become the final document for this project together with the decision notice, and FWP will implement plans for the project.
