Bob Hosea went into two different lakes in the Cabinet Mountains last weekend and sent in a report with photos to share.
On Saturday, August 29th he went into Rock Lake which is at the southern end of the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness. The trail head is accessed from Rock Creek road near Noxon. "Most of the pictures of the lake were taken from part way up into St. Paul Pass which is at the far end of the lake. The trail to the lake is in great shape, but there were many biting mosquitoes in the bottom along Rock creek meadows. I saw a total of seven people at the lake."
On Sunday he went into Leigh Lake. "The trail is in great shape and there weren't any biting bugs. I did get lucky enough to see a few mountain goats along the way. I saw approximately fifteen people on the trip including one Forest Service employee."
