Cabinet Heights Sewer Project to move forward

August 6, 2009

The long awaited Cabinet Heights Sewer project will begin moving dirt on Wednesday. The project will begin at the end of Montana Avenue near the Libby Baptist Church. Edstrom Construction of Rexburg, Idaho, the winning bid for the project, will have a logging subcontractor clearing way for pipe from the main at the end of Montana Avenue to the top of Bowen Hill. From there it will move into the residential areas of Cabinet Heights.

Edstrom’s crews will begin work on Wednesday. Their intent is to work four ten-hour days. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sunday off. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday followed by five days off. The project is expected to take six months to complete and may go into the Spring of 2010. There will need to be some coordination with the EPA who will begin cleanup of Cabinet View Country Club front nine greens and tee boxes on August 17th. A needed sewer lift station is planned for an area in need of asbestos removal.

The completion of the sewer project will allow Cabinet View to move forward with residential development of property surrounding the new back nine addition.

As a side note, reconstruction of the front nine will be completed by a golf course architect, not the EPA.
