What happened to the 2nd eagle chick?
Libby Dam Bald Eagle Cam

Those who have been watching the Libby Dam Bald Eagle Cam probably have noticed there is only one chick in the nest now. We asked the folks up at Libby Dam if they know what happened to the second chick? Here is the answer from Libby Dam Park Ranger Mark Andreasen: "On Saturday May 16, 2009 one of the eaglets died from unknown causes. It's not uncommon for eaglets to die in the early stages of development. Death may occur from natural causes, predators, competition for food, or even Fratricide (killing of one's sibling)."
A live video monitor of the eagle nest can be viewed at the Libby Dam Visitor Center.
