Courtney Nicklay has joined Jonna Peltier and Alysha Martin in competition for the title of 2009 Libby Logger Days Queen.
Nicklay, 17, is the daughter of Jami Mayes and Jim Nicklay. She will be a senior next fall at Libby High School, where she’s involved in cheerleading and track. She also enjoys working on community projects with the Kootenai Karacters and Kiwanis.
Nicklay is selling Logger Days buttons at Treasure Mountain Casino, the Libby Area Chamber of Commerce, Headlines, the Hair and Nail Connection, and Lincoln County Credit Union. Buttons, which provide admission to Logger Days events, are $4 in advance from one of the queen candidates and will be $5 at the gate.
Logger Days is scheduled for June 25-28 at J. Neils Memorial County Park. Along with traditional logging events, this year’s festival will include a bigger, better carnival, fireworks, a Jack and Jill softball tournament, and music by the Copper Mountain Band. ______________________________________
