Winter Fun in Libby
by Maggie Craig
February 10, 2009
The weekend of February 7-8 was a busy one in Libby. The Lincoln County SnoKats had their annual fundraising fun run, McGregor Lake Resort had its annual ice fishing derby on McGregor Lake, Libby High School hosted the divisional wrestling tournament, and Turner Mountain was open for some great skiing.
The SnoKats had around 100 riders for their fun/poker run up the East Fork of Pipe Creek. It was a 30-mile groomed loop suitable for the entire family. Afterward, riders met at the Treasure Mountain Casino for dinner and raffles. Winners of the raffle prizes were:
Winchester Model 70 Rifle donated by Sandy Doubek in memory of Gary Doubek: Jay Graham.
Snowmobile Trailer: Ray Wetzel.
2000 watt Honda Generator: Donna O'Neil.
$300 Gift Certificate to Dream Marine: Jim O'Neil.
The Lincoln County SnoKats welcome new members and additional help with keeping trails groomed and in good shape. To become a member, contact Adam Carr at 406-293-2966.
