Turner Ski Area describes themselves with the phrase, "Steep, Deep and Cheap". They are located in the Kootenai National Forest approximately 20 miles from Libby. 60 percent of the runs are rated Black Diamond. Thirty percent are More Difficult and 10 percent are rated Beginner. Currently, they have 40" of snow at the summit and are open weekends for the winter season.
"Skiing has been good to excellent for the most part all season with this last weekend perhaps the best this year," said Ken Farmer. The runs are groomed and in good condition. Lifts are open 9:30 am until 4:00 pm, Friday, Saturday and Sundays during the season. Ski and snowboard equipment rentals and food services are available at the base lodge. Cost for an all-day lift ticket is $30 for adults and $25 for junior/seniors. A half-day lift ticket is $25 for adults and $20 for junior/seniors.
Turner will be celebrating "Community Appreciation Day" on President’s Day, Monday, February 16th for free and reduced-priced skiing with voucher. Children 18 and under are free. Adults are half price: $15. Skiers must have a voucher, which are available at sponsoring businesses in Libby.
