KNF raises price for topo maps
$2 price increase to cover rising operational costs
by Kootenai National Forest
February 27, 2009
According to a media release from the Kootenai National Forest, effective March 1, 2009 the price of 1/24,000 scale Topographic Quadrangle Maps will increase from $6.00 to $8.00 to cover rising operational costs. This represents the first price increase of these maps since 2002.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has the primary responsibility of setting map prices and selling these maps. The U.S. Forest Service partners with the USGS to produce and maintain 1/24,000 scale topographic quadrangle maps over National Forest System Lands. The Forest Service participates in the USGS Business Partner Program and we are required to adhere to the prices set by USGS.
These maps are available at local District Offices and at the Supervisor’s Office. If you have any questions please contact Barb Young at 406-283-7671.
