Heather Henson may spend just a few months, maybe eight months, in jail for the murder of Larry Kingsley last July.
Henson told 19th District Judge Micheal Prezeau at the sentencing hearing she is "not a dangerous person", and she felt a sentence of "a couple of years and probation" would be a fair sentence.
Prezeau said he felt that there were mitigating, explainable, circumstances in the killing of Kingsley coming from a stressed mental and emotional state of Henson. Prezeau said those where factors "he could not ignore" and had to be "factored into" the sentencing decision.
Prezeau sentenced Henson to 20 years in prison, 15 of which will be suspended, and with parole and good behavior could be released in less than a year.
Henson was implicated in the murder of Larry Kingsley in which Henson and her boyfriend, Steven Thomas, pumped 16 rounds into a sleeping Kingsley at a campground between Libby and Kalispell last July. Henson was found guilty of attempted mitigated homicide because the jury could not determine whether Henson, or Thomas, delivered the fatal shot, the one round that caused Kingsley's death. ______________________________
