Frontier unveils fiber network between Libby and Troy
Will expand broadband backbone for telecommunications

Frontier Communications is unveiling a 20-mile fiber network, expanding the broadband infrastructure between Libby and Troy.
The network will link Libby and Troy together and expand the broadband backbone by 960%, the company says. The network will support the growth in the health care, education, government and commerce industry to drive economic develop in these communities.
By extending the fiber network to customers of Northwest Montana, Frontier will dramatically increase the speed of data transfers and remove the bottlenecks causes by different bandwidth capabilities on the route. Customers will be able to download files faster than ever before.
The network has the potential to provide residents in Libby with up to 6 MB speeds in the future.
Healthcare facilities can use the increased speeds to improve their patient care and access in rural areas by utilizing the network for telemedicine, teleradiology and virtual medical record management. Schools are gearing up for distance learning opportunities.
This network will support increased bandwidth for residential and small business customers, St. John Hospital, Flathead Valley Community College, Kootenai Business Park, Libby and Troy School Districts, Lincoln County, and the City of Libby and Troy.
