Stimson Lumber Company paid the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) administrative penalties totaling $480 to resolve violations of the Montana Opencut Mining Act. In an administrative enforcement action, the DEQ cited Stimson Lumber Company for failure to submit a 2007 annual progress report for their gravel pit operation in Lincoln County, Montana. The company has since returned to compliance by submitting the delinquent progress report and paying the administrative penalty. _______________________________
