Libby Dam outflow schedule

Libby Dam outflow will be gradually decreased towards minimum flow (4,000 cfs) on January 1st, 2009, beginning December 24th, as follows:
• Outflow will decrease from 18,800 cfs early (by 5:00 am local time) on December 25 to 13,800 cfs for the day. • Outflow will be 13,500 cfs on December 26 and 27. • Outflow will be 9,000 cfs on December 28 and 29. • Outflow will be 6,000 cfs during the morning hours of December 30, dropping to 5,000 cfs for the remainder of the day. • Outflow will be 4,500 cfs on December 30. • Outflow will be 4,000 cfs on January 1. The purpose of outflow reduction is to meet Koocanusa Reservoir flood control elevation requirement of 2,411' at the end of December.
Flow reduction rates follow 2006 Biological Opinion ramping rates.
Flow schedule is subject to change for power generation emergency.
