The Heritage Museum will be hosting its annual Holiday Bazaar on November 7th & 8th. Festivities begin that Friday from 5 to 8 PM and continue on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
The museum’s aisles will be lined with tables of jewelry, woodcrafts, stained glass, needlecrafts, ceramics, photos, soy candles, holiday décor, baked goods and more. Artwork from the Libby Fine Arts Group will be on display and available for sale. Whether you’re shopping for gift-giving or just for yourself, you’re sure to find something that suits your taste on the crafters’ well-stocked tables. In addition, the Museum’s table will be overflowing with items and gift certificates that have been generously donated for this sale by local merchants and friends of the museum. 100% of the money earned at this table goes directly to the museum.
Stop in at the cookhouse where delicious taco soup will be served Friday night. Then on Saturday, hungry shoppers will want to make their way to the cookhouse where the crew will be grilling delicious burgers and Polish sausages. A slice of pie or cake will top off either meal nicely.
The museum will be decorated to create a festive holiday atmosphere. You’ll even notice some of the exhibits with touches of Christmas cheer. The "little house" will be decorated for Christmas with homemade ornaments on the tree and holiday pies ready for baking in the kitchen. Peek in the window of the Bolyard home, a replica dollhouse of 418 Idaho Avenue. You’ll see presents wrapped beneath the Christmas tree and an elegant dinner awaiting its guests.
As always, admission to the museum is by donation. The Holiday Bazaar is the museum’s main fundraiser of the year. The goal is to cover the year’s insurance premium and the winter heating bills. A large portion of the profit will come from the raffle. First prize is $100 cash; second prize is a gift basket which includes gift certificates to Torgy’s, Henry’s and The Antler’s. There are over twenty-five third prizes donated by all the participating crafters. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are available from museum volunteers or at Naturally Good Things, 313 California Ave. or Alpha Pets, 1604 Highway 2 South. The drawing will take place near the end of the Holiday Bazaar at 3 PM on Saturday, Nov. 8th. You need not be present to win.
