Visitors to this year's 24th annual Nordicfest enjoyed beautiful weather and nearly all the food and events we've come to expect over the past 23 years of this Scandinavian celebration. Although some food vendors were missing and the parade route was shortened this year, there was still a full complement of traditional Nordicfest activities for the weekend. Among the many features of Nordicfest were the Bunad procession, the International Fjord horse show, Fine Arts show, quilt show, Youth Runnerfell, Saturday parade, juried Arts and Crafts Show, Hardanger display, outdoor entertainment, arm wrestling, rock throwing contest, kids' play area, Kootenai Karacters melodrama, and the ever-popular food booths.
This year's King and Queen were Ted and Audrey Werner; Prince and Princess were Scott Harlow and Rachel Cernick; Kootenai and Mrs. Knute were Malcolm and Debra Edwards; and Parade Marshal was Irene Loveless.
