A $40,000 grant from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and volunteer labor are coming together in the construction of a new building at the shooting range off Farm to Market Road near the airport.
The structure will be used by the Libby Rod & Gun Club, the Libby Archery Club, the Libby Scatterguns and the Kootenai Muzzleloaders, and volunteers from each of the clubs have been pitching in to put it all together, said Rod & Gun Club president Don Clark.
"The archery club has some very, very good carpenters, and we utilized that," Clark noted.
The building will be used for hunter education classes, with hookups for online classes, as well as for other meetings and events put on by the clubs.
In addition to the volunteer labor provided by club members, the project has gotten help from the county and from Frontier Communications and Flathead Electric Cooperative, Clark said.
"It’s a real community project, and that makes it nice because everybody lends a helping hand," he said. _______________________________________
