The owner of a "pit bull" has been cited for violation of the City of Libby’s "pit bull" ordinance. The ordinance prohibits the keeping of "pit bull" dogs within the City limits. Barbara Turner appeared in City Court Wednesday and pleaded "not" guilty. Although Turner has referred to her dog as a "pit bull" before the City Council on several occasions, she now claims the dog is not a "pit bull", but an American Bull Dog. An omnibus hearing has been set for November 6, with the jury trial set for December 18. The dates are tentative and subject to change. If found guilty Turner faces up to five-hundred dollars fine and up to six month in jail. _________________________________________
