Libby’s second annual Incredi-Bull Riding Blowout will be held starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at J. Neils Memorial County Park.
Forty riders are expected for the event, which is sponsored by Lincoln County Credit Union and sanctioned by the new Elite Professional Bullriders organization.
“That gives the opportunity to have better bull riders and top stock,” said event organizer P.J. Morrison. “We have pretty good bulls coming this year.”
The purse will be $11,000.
There will also be miniature bulls for young riders with a 125-pound weight limit. Last year’s contest was won by local rider Mitch Haugen.
Proceeds from the event will benefit a scholarship for local students involved in rodeo or agriculture.
“My goal is, I want kids to get involved in the sport,” Morrison said.
Morrison was a professional bull rider for 16 years before retiring from competition.
“I want to be able to offer my help to get them pointed in the right direction if that’s what they want to do,” he said.
Tickets will be $12 at the gate but are available for $10 in advance at Homesteaders Ranch & Feed in Libby, Booze ’N Bait in Troy and the Ranch Hand in Eureka. Children 6 and under will be admitted free. ________________________________________
