The fatal fire that destroyed two apartments over a laundromat next to Empire Foods early Friday is believed to have been accidental in nature and to have originated in the apartment of the deceased victim, according to Steve Lauer, assistant fire marshal with the Libby Volunteer Fire Department.
Travis Anderson, 26, died in the fire. Two men and one woman in the second apartment were injured in the fire and were treated at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital, Lauer said. All three have been released from the hospital.
Firefighters responded to the call around 2 a.m. and spent several hours at the scene. The specific cause of the fire remains under investigation, Lauer said.
