Construction begins on new tennis courts by KLCB 1230 AM Libby News Radio April 14, 2008 Construction of six new tennis courts is beginning. The City of Libby has leased what was a beautiful section of land by the Montana Athletic Club to U Serve Libby, another 501C3 non-profit corporation, with an educational and charitable goal to be the acquisition, operation and control of a sports facility, including tennis courts and courts for other sports, for use by school age children and adults. The City and Lincoln County will provide an estimated $56,000 in-kind construction work for the project. The Libby Public School District will help with maintenance. Other funding will come from grants and solicitation of donations from businesses and individuals. $31,145 has been committed through donations, pledges and fundraising activities with another $109,855 still needed, according to U-Serve. _____________________________________ Story by KLCB 1230 AM Libby News Radio, www.todaysbestcountryonline.com
