McGregor Lake Resort Fishing Derby
New Owners - Same Great Derby!
January 27, 2008
The new owners of McGregor Lake Resort, Mark and Julianne Bacialli and Mike Lavoie, announce the upcoming annual fishing derby on McGregor Lake, sponsored by the Resort. The derby is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, February 9-10. Over 1000 people are expected to participate this year, especially since ice conditions on the lake are currently excellent. As of January 23, the ice was 7 1/2” thick in the center of the lake, with new ice forming daily.
The derby features 100% payback, so the $10 entry fee has the potential of returning big cash prizes for that winning mackinaw or rainbow trout, plus over $8000 in other prizes given away during drawings both days. Prizes include: ice houses, canoe, underwater camera, fishing poles, electric drill, stovetop smoker, hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets galore.
A special feature of the derby includes children’s divisions with no entry fee required for kids. There will be special activities for kids (such as a fish piñata) and each child will receive a goodie bag and the opportunity to receive cash prizes as well.
The derby opens at 6:00 a.m. both days, and participants must be checked in by 8:00 a.m. Derby fishing closes and prize drawings begin at 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 3:00 p.m. Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at the Resort any time before derby weekend, or register the morning of the derby.
