The Polar Bear Club of Libby, Montana, had a special reason to "plunge" in the New Year of 2008...SSG Keith Wriston of Butte, Montana, and stationed in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, had requested honorary membership in Libby's Polar Bear Club. Accommodating that request, club president Rick Klin made 130 troops in the Division members of the club during Sunday's New Year plunge. So, Libby's Polar Bear Club grew significantly this season, thanks to our troops in Iraq. And speaking of thanks - we sincerely thank you and all of our military members for your service. Please return home safely.
The New Year's plunge was held on December 30th at Libby Creek. Missing from Sunday's plunge were a few regulars: Dan McLaury, who was in California tending the bees; Loren Clausen, the Chad Ralls family and the Ben Klin family. You were missed!
Special thanks to Tim Amos and Tim Amos, Jr. for plowing the road for parking.
And thank you, Polar Bear Rick and Dorothy, for providing food, hot drinks, a hot fire, and unique entertainment for Libby. It's good, "clean" fun!
