St. John’s now offers a way for the public to e-mail well wishes to patients while they are at St. John’s hospital. All it takes is a few easy steps, and you can send get-well wishes, words of encouragement, or congratulations on the delivery of a new baby.
“Email-a-Patient is a free service that allows well wishers the opportunity to send an email message to a patient at St. John's. These messages are then hand-delivered to patients by staff members within 24 hours of the time the email is received, with the exception of weekends and holidays,” stated KC Hoyer, Marketing Manager at St. John's Lutheran Hospital.
“This is a great way for our communities to let patients at St. John’s know that they are cared about and thought of often,” stated Hoyer. “If a patient is not at St. John's Hospital or has already been discharged, we will attempt to contact the sender,” she added.
To e-mail a friend or relative who has been hospitalized, simply log onto www.sjlh.com and click on the E-mail a Patient icon. Read the instructions, click on the icon at the bottom of the page, and you are ready to go! Remember to include your first and last name, the patient’s first and last name, your e-mail address, your contact phone number, and the message for your friend or relative.
”Because we live in a remote location, we have to find creative ways to bridge the distance gap,” added Hoyer. “Having a connection to family and friends is critical to the healing process. The E-mail a Patient Service is just one more way for us to keep loved ones together during the times when it’s needed the most.” For more information, contact KC Hoyer at 293-0106.
