Winter Storm Watch in Effect
Monday and Tuesday
by National Weather Service
November 25, 2007

(Missoula) - The National Weather Service in Missoula advises that a vigorous winter storm system is expected to move into western Montana Monday afternoon. Heavy snow is possible in mountain locations with lighter amounts possible in the valleys. The snow will begin to taper off Tuesday afternoon as the system leaves the area. The Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon above 3500 feet.

New snowfall accumulations of 8 to 12 inches could be expected with up to 20 inches possible in the higher elevations. Locations below 3500 feet could see new snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches.

A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

Travelers are advised to be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
