Fish, Wildlife and Parks makes decision on Young Creek
Environmental Assessment completed on fish screen project
November 7, 2007
Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP), Region One, has completed environmental assessment (EA) for the purpose of reducing fish loss on the Young Creek irrigation diversion by installing an effective fish screen.
One collective comment in favor of the project was received from five landowners who use this irrigation system. Based on the analysis in the draft EA and comment received, it is recommended that the proposed project be implemented. There were no changes to the draft; therefore, the draft becomes the final EA.
Copies of the decision notice are available at FWP headquarters, 490 N Meridian, Kalispell; Montana State Library, 1515 E 6th Ave., Helena; the Lincoln County Libraries - 220 W 6th, Libby/318 Dewey Ave., Eureka/207 N 3rd, Troy; and the FWP web site at fwp.mt.gov/publicnotices.
