The Caveman of the Clark Fork is coming to Libby!
October 20, Little Theatre
October 8, 2007
Have you ever been to Heron, Montana?? Do you even know how to find Heron?? Well, you’re not alone! I’ll give you some clues.
Heron is a tiny town nestled a few miles off of Hwy 200, just east of the Idaho/Montana line. If you’re paying attention as you drive Hwy 200 between Thompson Falls and Sandpoint, you will see the Hwy sign for Heron, and then another homemade sign that used to have a wooden heron on top, but, it got shot off. Anyway, don’t blink. Because if you do, you will miss the turn to one of the most creative, unique theatre events in the Northwest!
It all started back in 1995, when a small group of locals got together to do a play to help support the Heron Community Center. That play, “Flora’s Flower Shop,” was received with such enthusiasm and appreciation that “The Heron Players” were born!
This year’s fall show is “The Caveman of the Clark Fork,” an original script incorporating, as the Heron shows often do, a bit of local gossip and politics. But don’t let that keep you from coming; this is a show the whole family will enjoy, and the laughs are fast and furious as the story unfolds. “Somewhere in a remote corner of Montana, the locals make an amazing discovery...”
The first dinner theater shows were held Friday, Oct. 5, and Saturday, Oct. 6, in Heron (to great reviews). The shows will be repeated Friday, Oct. 12, and Saturday, Oct. 13. Dinner theater tickets are $15, and they sell out fast, so advance tickets are required! Then on Sunday, Oct. 14, they will be doing a matinee at 3pm. Ticket prices for the matinee are $6 for adults and $3 for kids. All these shows will be at the Heron Community Center.
Also this year the Heron Players return to Libby! “The Caveman of the Clark Fork” will be performed Saturday, Oct. 20, 7pm, at the Little Theatre, which is located at 724 Louisiana Ave, right in the middle of town. Tickets for this show are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. For tickets or information on any of the shows, please call 1-877-328-7659. Tickets for both the matinee in Heron and the Libby show will be available at the door.
So come join the fun and see if anthropologist Noah Moore and news reporter Barbie Dahl can find the elusive caveman. You’ll never know unless you come to a show! Again, for tickets or information, call 1-877-328-7659.
