More buyers interested in Historic Libby High School
Two developers present signed buy/sell agreements
August 24, 2007

The Libby schools have received two signed buy/sell agreements on the Historic Libby High school. One with a check from local developer, Ray Hollingsworth, who was out of town and not able to give the board a presentation at the school board meeting.

The second from Kalispell developer Erick Berry who is a partner and owner in the Kalispell Eastside Brick project, who was present to meet the board.

Eastside Brick is the re-development of the old Kalispell hospital into condominiums.

There has been no further contact from Bryan Scott, another Kalispell developer who had expressed considerable interest in the Historic Libby High School, with plans to renovate it into 12 to 14 office suites, and is an investor in Kalispell's Eastside Brick project.

Scott bought the Kalispell Outlaw Inn for renovation while the Historic Libby High School was tied up in a legal battle brought by former school board and City Council member Gary Huntsburger. Huntsburger lost the court case, allowing the schools to move forward with the sale of the building and the property upon which it sits.

The school board set a meeting on the 11th of September to see a presentation by Berry of what he has done and present more of his credentials.

The Board was very cautious about entering into any agreement unless they can feel the person can get the job done for the community. The Board's position has long been to sell the building to a developer that will rehabilitate the structure.

Berry plans to do just that, as did ConoverBond, and Bryan Scott. Hollingsworth's plans are unknown. As we said, he was out of town, and not available to comment.
