Fishing Closure Lifted on Thompson River
Effective Saturday, September 1
August 31, 2007
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has acted to lift the fishing closure on the Thompson River. The entire Thompson River is reopened to all angling effective at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2007.
The Thompson River received a Time-Of-Day closure on July 9, 2007 due to high water temperatures. Water temperatures have now been below the reopening criteria (70 degrees F for at least 3 days) since August 23rd. Longer and cooler nights make it unlikely that water temperatures will again exceed closure criteria.
