Vermilion Road Reconstruction

Trout Creek, MT – The Vermilion River Road is undergoing reconstruction through August 30. This will result in temporary delays. The Resource Advisory Council of Sanders County approved funding for the Kootenai National Forest and Sanders County to reconstruct 13 miles of the Vermilion River Road. The first phase of the project started last year with redecking the bridges and replacing the bridge guardrails. The first phase is nearing completion and the second phase of the project is under way.
Currently, the Forest Service is involved in the second phase that extends from the Blue Slide Road to the Willow Creek (Forest Service Road 367) Road junction. Expect random delays and rough surfaces until completion. The contractor has been asked to keep road delays and closures to a minimum.
