Troy mine accident kills one miner

An accident at the Troy Revett mine has killed one miner. The accident occurred about 11:30am Monday morning, July 30 and confirmed by the Revett General offices in Spokane, Washington. The name of the miner is being withheld.
Carson Rife, Vice President of Operations for the company told KLCB News that a rock fall occurred in the southeast corner of the mine, trapping a mechanic and a pickup truck.
It took miners until 7pm Monday night to move enough rubble to reach the truck and driver.
Bill Patten, CEO of St John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby, confirmed for KLCB News that two other miners had been transported to the hospital with minimal injuries and had been treated and released.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration is on scene and will investigate the cause of the accident.
Rock fall in the mine is not an unusual occurrence.
