This tower was used in the opening and ending firefighting scenes of Steven Spielberg's 1989 movie, "Always", starring Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter. (Readers have corrected us that this tower was built specifically for the movie. "It did not exist prior. It originally was closer to the runway in the movie, but the FAA made the airport move it later for safety concerns," wrote one reader.) The tower still stands at the Libby airport.
