Libby's Turner Ski Area featured in Montana Magazine
'Secret Treasure hidden away in the woods of northwest Montana'
April 21, 2007
The March/April edition of Montana Magazine included a two-page article about Turner Mountain Ski Area and Libby. The article, entitled, “Taking turns at Turner Mountain, a Libby-area secret”, was written by Trapper Badovinac, a free-lance writer/photographer.
The author spent a day skiing at Turner. He describes the “surprisingly great lunch next to a woodstove in the lodge,” the Turner “T-bar burger” and the handcrafted soups. Lift tickets are $26 for adults and the lines are virtually nonexistent. He describes Turner as a “peaceful yet exhilarating ski area where you can end the day with great memories of catching air in the solitude of one of Montana’s last best places.”
The author also describes the South Flower Cross-Country Ski Course and the Libby sledding hill.
“Libby is a secret treasure hidden away in the woods of northwest Montana,” he writes. He name-mentions the Evergreen Motel, Henry’s Restaurant, the MK Steakhouse and the Red Star (Editor's Note: Should be the 'Red Dog') for pizza, and describes the town’s “family-oriented atmosphere.”
