January 14, 2007 Six Polar Bears turned out Sunday for a frigid dip in Libby Creek. With the water temperature at 32.2 degrees and an air temperature of 16 degrees, it was true Polar Bear weather. With our recent below zero temperatures, ice had to be broken along the edges of the creek, but that didn't deter the swimmers from taking their icy plunge.
